![]() While slight gains can be seen by pointing the velocity stack into oncoming air without the filter, this puts the engine at risk as unfiltered air can cause unwanted debris to enter your engine. NOTICE: Hybrid Racing recommends always running the filter on the cold air intake. ![]() Fully assembled, the filter and velocity stack has a 6.25″ overall height and 7.5″ diameter. ![]() The velocity stack has a 2.25″ overall height. All you need to connect it to your 3.5″ cold air intake is a 3.5″ silicone coupler and (2) hose clamps. The velocity stack has a 6″ inlet and a 3″ outlet. Included in each kit is a velocity stack, filter, and a hose clamp to connect the two together. That said, the same sort of benefits can be seen by adding a similar bellmouth (in this case a velocity stack) to the end of your cold air intake. This bellmouth is added because it increases the efficiency of air moving through the pipe by as much as 70% in the right situations. If you’ve ever looked inside an intake manifold, you’ve noticed a curved “bellmouth” profile at the inlet of each intake runner. ![]() A well-designed cold air intake and high-flow cone filter are great ways to let your engine breath better, but a filter on the end of a pipe has its limitations. Paying close attention to how air flows into and out of your engine is an obvious place to start making modifications for optimal performance. That’s the best way I could explain that lol sorry, I. I recommend watching LA hover bikes’ video on velocity stacks if this paragraph doesn’t make sense. Air filter boot to fit Dellorto carburetors on Moto Guzzi V700, V7 Special, Ambassador, 850 GT, 850 GT California, Eldorado, 850 California Police models. When it comes to getting the most power out of your engine, the devil is in the details. Velocity stacks kind of work by smoothening out the turbulent airflow, and if there are significant imperfections on the walls the air passes through, it’ll make it turbulent again. Air filter boot to fit Dellorto carburetors on Moto Guzzi V700, V7 Special, Ambassador, 850 GT, 850 GT California, Eldorado, 850 California Police models. These are a set of two, so My guess is possibly meant for a cb750 or other 4 cylinder Japanese bikes. The rubber elbows are from Home depot, perfect fit around the velocity stack as well as the cut end fitting into the filter base. I picked up this pair of filter pods at a swap meet a few years ago. It required no modifications to the velocity stacks. Thanks to Lee Hulteng for sending me this information via email. Likely adaptation from a Japanese four cylinder motorcycle I ordered both (#'s U801 and U802), I'll let you know how they work out.Īs it turns out either worked just fine. ![]() Given the stepped nature of the stock Eldo v-stacks I figured that a tube that was either 1.6 inch × 6 inch or 2 inch × 8 inch could be made to work. To do this I had to order a flange-less type (pure foam) sock (I'll open up the closed end to make a tube). I am thinking that a foam tube could be bent (curved) and run from one intake to the other. I figure it maximized filter area, and evened out air box vacuum. Leaving the spring inside to prevent collapse, I routed the foam tube from one vstack to the other and attached with zip ties or hose clamps. I cut center out of the closed end so I ended up with a foam tube. I got a single sock (no rubber flange) filter of the appropriate ID and about 8 inch long I believe. That said, you can fit 2 rubber flanged unis to your bike, but a system I devised ended up cheaper, and neater IMHO. Greg, I have been a big fan of UNI's, right up until my bike backfired while trying to start it, and they caught FIRE!!! Contributed by Mike Tiberio on the old Yahoo!
